Alsace is a French wine region located to the northeast, with climate semi-continental fresh, softened by the Vosges Mountains has more than 15,000 hectares of vineyards situated between the Vosges mountains that descend to the valleys and plains of the Rhine classified as Appellation d'Origine AOC-AOP I controlled translated Denominazione di Origine Controllata DOC. It is divided into two winegrowing subregions: Bas-Rhin with suelso of different composition forming an immense mosaic, Haut-Rhin to an altitude of 450 meters, and denominations DOC Alsace, DOC Great Cru, whose name is completed with the grape variety cultivated, and Cremant d'Alsace DOC. In the Alsace white grape varieties Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Sylvaner are cultivated; and ink Pinto Noir.

Alsace wines are mostly white varietal wines light, dry, fruity and great minerality.
