  • Luis Cañas Crianza is a wine made from the varieties Tempranillo 95% and Grenache 5% from vineyards D.O.Ca. Rioja. After monitoring and control of the maturation of each plot the harvest is done by hand and the grapes are transported to the winery in small individual boxes. Selection and grains destemmed before fermentation, which starts at a controlled temperature of 26°C for 20 days. Aged in oak barrels 70% French and 30% American, 3 years, 12 months. Once bottled remains at rest for at least nine months before being marketed. Alcohol: 14% vol. Tasting notes: Ruby red color. The nose is clean with balsamic notes and memories of fine wood. Velvety on the palate, with notes of red fruits (raspberry, cherry).

  • More about Bodegas Luis Cañas: it is a family winery founded by Luis Cañas in Rioja Alavesa. Until 1970 Luis Cañas wines were sold in bulk, but thereafter begin to hit the market as wine "from grower", made with the traditional method in Rioja, llamdado of "carbonic maceration". In 1989 his son Juan Luis Cañas, takes care of the bodega, promoting new vintage wines. Invests heavily in its vineyards, acquiring new plots in the Sierra de Cantabria, reaching agreements with growers in the area under his supervision, grow and produce grapes used in their wines.
