  • Finca Dofi is a red wine made from the grape varieties Garnacha and Cariñena remaining, from vineyards of the D.O.Q. Priorat. After the harvest, the grapes are separated different arrival at the winery and vinified separately, in a development built underground, combining small stainless steel tanks and wooden vats for fermentation and maintains a stable temperature fresh throughout the development process and minimizes aeration in musts and wines. In the Grenache, extracting color, fruit and tannins is by bazuqueos, to avoid risk of oxidation. In this process the dough is pressed skins and seeds left in tact surface, to sink into the wort and get a good soaking in the fine tannins are extracted. Aged for 19 months in French oak barrels (80% new and 20% of a wine). Alcohol: 14.5% vol.

  • 95+ points Parker. "The 2014 Finca Dofí is a blend of approximately 94% Garnacha and 6% Cariñena from a vineyard in Gratallops, called Finca Dofí. The destemmed and crushed grapes fermented in oak vats with natural yeasts followed by malolactic and 14 months aging in oak barrels. It feels terribly lively, with a silkiness and purity, terse but at the same time ripe. The oak is very integrated and there is no volatility many associate with Priorat, but the flavors are clearly reminiscent of the old vintages of Dofí but with a much more polished texture. Again the acidity gives it clout and depth, like claws clinging to you. It ends tasty and very mineral. This feels as good as the other-worldly 2013. A great vintage for Dofí. There are 20,100 bottles produced.". Tasting Notes Finca Dofi: Dark cherry red, clean and bright. On the nose, aromas emerge seductive, delicate and elegant that evoke flowers, minerals, roasted coffee and some chocolate and olive. Mouth wide and with lots of volume and body, very tasty thin step without edges, all in perfect harmony, licorice shaped fruit accompanied by creamy notes of high quality. Very balanced, with good acidity.
  • About Álvaro Palacios could say many things that define him as a winemaker and vintner wine from Priorat, Bierzo and Rioja. He was born in La Rioja in 1964 into a family of winemakers and completed his training in oenology in Bordeaux. Your stay in Bordeaux grew in him the ambition to get recover classical vineyards in Spain; I wanted to find a place where I had old vines, an area with great potential and good quality. From the hand of his friend René Barbier, he settled in Catalonia, where he discovered the Priory, temporarily abandoned by historical circumstances and initiated the recovery of his vineyard. In 1993 L'Ermita took his best plot in the DOQ Priorat, ecologically cultivated, 3.5 hectares of which only used in their wines 1.5 Ha, the rest is growing, aging or until you decide to produce wines with exploitation. It also has other 30 hectares of vines, 17 of them in terraces and the remaining 13 on the '' costers'. As a curiosity, we know that Alvaro Palacios in organic viticulture applied based herbal teas, chamomile and valerian, with which are sprayed by hand vineyard, and because of the terrain features machines can not move through the vineyards, so people and mules used in tillage and other farm work.
